Frequently Asked Questions
Question:How does Intonation get access to my Facebook and YouTube profiles? Does it capture my passwords?
Answer:No, Intonation does not capture or have any knowledge of your passwords. Facebook and YouTube provide authentication services allowing third party applications such as Intonation to access certain profile data in a secure way. The Facebook and YouTube logins are done directly with those sites and not through Intonation. Once authentication with those sites is complete the user is redirected to back to Intonation.

Question: What information from my FaceBook account does Intonation access?
Answer:Intonation collects limited information provided by Facebook. This includes your user id, user name, email address, city, state, and photo albums.

Question: What does Intonation do with my information?
Answer:Intonation will not share or sell any of your information. The information you enter is collected for the sole purpose of promoting you and your band from the website.

Question: Why is Intonation asking me to share my current location when I visit the homepage?
Answer: Intonation allows you to see what's happening around you, i.e. local shows, musicians seeking other musicians to collaborate with, etc. We encourage you to "accept" the prompt on the homepage, allowing Intonation to provide you with the most accurate information possible. If you do not "accept" the location prompt, Intonation will still be able to provide you with information about local members and events, however with less accuracy.

Question: How do I contact other musicians, and how do other musicians contact me?
Answer: When your account is created Intonation captures your email address. This email address is not displayed to the general public nor is it given out to anyone. We encourage you to elect to allow users to contact you (an option on your profile page). If you do this users will see an email link when visiting your profile page and our site will contact your on their behalf. The person emailing you will never see your email address and will only obtain that information if you provide it to them while corresponding with one another. If you do not select this option on your profile page users will not be able to send you messages through our site.

Question: I noticed Intonation reads from my Facebook photo albums, will ALL of my pictures be displayed to musicians?
Answer: No, users will not see all of your Facebook pictures or information. We understand that people have lives and other interests outside of music. We expect that you don't want pictures of your pets or family barbeque in your Intonation profile! Nor do we want you to have to reorganize your photo albums for display in our site. In short, we know not all of your pictures/information from other social networking sites is relevant to your band or you as as a musician. We provide access to your information and let YOU decide what information (if any) you wish to display in your Intonation profile. We also give you the option of uploading more information directly to our site. As a result your profile will become a consolidated view of your musical information which may be gathered from several places.
